Fairfield has just finished the Volta ao Porto, a race which the team dominated in truly spectacular fashion! While the team couldn't quite manage to grab 1st or 2nd overall, our three headed monster of Vernon Kings, Elroy Vickers, and Aurelio Bunuel finished 3rd, 4th, and 8th overall! Kings also won the best Young Rider jersey.
Combined the three managed to finish in the top 9 spots 16 times during the 10 stages, and Kings was in the yellow jersey for a few stages in the middle of the tour.
Stage top 9 finishes:
Bunuel was amazing in the TTers, picking up a 1st, 3rd, and 4th place.
Vickers: 2nd, 4th, 5th, 7th, 8th, 9th
Kings: 3rd, 4th, 5th, 6th, 7th, 8th, 9th
With this crazy display the team has moved up to a new peak, reaching the top-10 overall for the first time ever!! In the last week we have managed to gain 45 places!
The riders are all very excited and looking forward to the Germany Tour later this season. Vickers is especially excited as he did very well the last time he was there 3 seasons ago, but since then the squad has not been able to qualify.

Yeah seriously! I'm going to have to do well in the Germany Tour this year in order to stay in the top-20 next season.
Wow Well done. Missed this tour with being inactive for a couple of weeks. Will have to be there next year. Gonna be hard loosin them points next year but good luck :)
